Each course includes materials and license for use to the entire organization allowing board, staff, and committees to benefit. (If you serve on multiple boards, please note you are required to purchase the course separately for use at each organization.)

Your Instructor
Kate Kalstein has devoted her entire career to strengthening nonprofit organizations through leadership, advocacy and the law to enable them to focus on progress. An attorney with more than 10 years professional experience, Kate has great expertise in a broad range of issues and focus areas.
Kate is the founder and principal of Kate Kalstein Consulting where she provides governance and planning support to nonprofit clients. Prior to launching Kate Kalstein Consulting in 2009, Kate served as Legislative Counsel to the California Judges Association and Director of Policy and Planning at the Edgewood Center for Children and Families in San Francisco. She received her law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Today Kate is based in Denver, Colorado.
Kate is an active member of the Consultants‘ Leadership Forum sponsored by The Denver Foundation and CausePlanet. Appointed by Governor John Hickenlooper in fall 2015, Kate proudly serves as Commissioner to the State Commission on Community Service, Serve Colorado. Kate is proud to have worked with dozens of nonprofit boards and numerous nonprofit organizations to strengthen communities across the country including WeeCycle, Social Venture Partners, All Kids Covered, the Arc of Colorado, the Basalt Education Foundation and the Colorado Bar Foundation.
